A component of MSI’s CellScale Network Solutions, the MSI-9850 RF Digital Indicator functions as a wireless remote terminal to provide complete control over all scale / sensor and data functions when combined with one or more CellScale devices. All CellScale features are supported, including Inter-Network Radio Messaging, Data Logging, Bar Code Scanner Interface, Totalizing and Statistics.

Each MSI-9850 can log on to 64 different networks allowing it to serve multiple CellScales with simple one-button network and/or channel (sensor/scale) changes. The MSI-9850 features a large primary weight display that is easily read from a distance and an information display to provide network / channel detail. The information display also supports multiple CellScale channels allowing users to display up to 8 simultaneously. With a touch of a button, users can choose which channel to view on the primary weight display. Operation is straightforward through the alphanumeric keypad.

The MSI-9850 can calibrate any CellScale remotely and provides a simple user interface to the advanced features of the CellScale. All calibration data is stored in the CellScale allowing any MSI-9850 to be used with any CellScale based wireless weighing system without recalibration. Enhanced data acquisition, sophisticated data logging, and complete display of multiple scales / sensors can be initiated and managed with the MSI-9850.

New Options Available

Measurement Systems International (MSI) is pleased to announce the availability of two new options on the MSI-9850 RF Digital Indicator that expand its capabilities to interface with computers and peripheral devices: Ethernet Connectivity and Internal Set Point Relays.

The MSI-9850 Ethernet option provides the ability to connect your CellScale Network directly to your PC, corporate network or the Internet. The Ethernet option is available in either hardwired 10/100Base-T or wireless 802.11b network interfaces. Communication with scales / sensors are accomplished with simple TCP protocol, bypassing the more complex serial communications associated with RS-232.

The MSI-9850 Internal Set Point Relays option provides up to eight (8) set point outputs for direct interface with peripheral devices. Connections are made through waterproof feed through connectors to terminal blocks inside the MSI-9850. Both coil and solid state relay types are available in isolated and shared power modes. End users can mix the combination of relays to suit their needs.
